This is a rare kokeshi by the famous awardwinning Sanpei Yamanaka. The kokeshi has such a lovely deep colors and has beautifully aged. This is a nice opportunity to buy a rare piece by Sanpei.
Yamanaka-San was born in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi troughout his entire career. His kokeshi are really sought by collectors all over the world. He won the prestigious 'Prime Minister Award' in 1979.
