This is a Beautiful Vintage Kokeshi by Sansaku Sekiguchi. Sansaku Sekiguchi was born in 1925 and he is the only certified Master of Creative Kokeshi by the Japanese Government. He even has his own museum in Gunma. He won numerous awards including three times the prestigious Prime Minister Award!!! His kokeshi are arguably amongst the most popular, and sought by collectors all over the world making them highly expensive. Sekiguchi-San passed away in 2018. His sons, Toa, Toshio and his daughter Izumi now also make kokeshi successfully winning many prices at contests.
This is a very rare find and a great opportunity to add her to your collection or home interior. This kokeshi is still in good condition except for a small dent i her hair. She also comes with her original box!
