This is a beautiful pair of Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Sanpei Yamanaka. They are in good condition and can be seen as a couple. They have a simple design with large eyes.
Yamanaka-San was born in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi troughout his entire career. His kokeshi are really sought by collectors all over the world. He won the prestigious 'Prime Minister Award' in 1979.
