This is a lovely Pair of Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Kenichi Murakami.
Murakami was born in 1929 and initially studied oil painting in the 1940s. Around the mid 40s, he began to study and create Shingata kokeshi. His kokeshi are all about showing the wood and its texture with very little paint. Most even have wood-burned designs.
