This Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Toa Sekiguchi is beautiful! She has a very nice design. She is decorated with golden paint and glitter on a peach base. She is in very good condition.
Toa Sekiguchi is a famous kokeshi artisan. He is part of a well-known kokeshi artisan family. He is the son of the famous Sansaku Sekiguchi who has his own kokeshi museum in Gunma. Toa was born in Shibukawa City and still lives and works there with his family. He has won numerous awards for his kokeshi including the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award.
