This is an adorable pair of Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Sanpei Yamanaka. These kokeshi have a simple design and are made out of two types of wood.
Yamanaka-San was born in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi troughout his entire career. His kokeshi are really sought by collectors all over the world. He won the prestigious 'Prime Minister Award' in 1979.
