It looks like three three have some fun walking in a row. Aren't they the cutest? Never seen them before. They are made by Issetsu Kuribayashi.
Kuribayashi was born in Yamagata prefecture in 1924. In the 1950s he started producing Creative Kokeshi. Kuribayashi won numerous awards including the prestigious Prime Minister Award. His kokeshi are arguably amongst the most popular, and sought by collectors all over the world making them highly expensive. Kuribayashi -San passed away in 2011.
