Issetsu Kuribayashi's kokeshi are one of our favorites. The natural wood has often a predominant role in his kokeshi. This vintage kokeshi nicely illustrates that. She is a lovely elegant lady. It is quite rare that the green base color is still partly preserved on this doll as it is often the fastest to fade.
