Kazuo Takamizawa is a famous artisan who has received the prestigious prime minister award. Until the early seventies his main type of kokeshi had a minimal wood burn design and a nice mage hair style. Later he used a little more color in his kokeshi. This kokeshi is his older work in which he used wood burning techniques. It has a beautiful simple camellia pattern. These early kokeshi are highly sought after.
