This is a rare doll by the famous award winning Sanpei Yamanaka. She stands 46 cm tall and is so elegant. She is sparsely decorated and has some carved bands.
Yamanaka-San was born in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi throughout his entire career. His kokeshi are really sought by collectors all over the world. He won the prestigious 'Prime Minister Award' in 1979.
