This Exclusive kokeshi by Issetsu Kuribayashi is a Kappa. The Kappa is a Japanese water sprite. They are believed to be naughty and sometimes dangerous. On top of their head is a puddle of water. If the Kappa looses this puddle he is unable to move when away from water. In case you meet a Kappa, you must bow to him. As he is well mannered he will also bow and loose his puddle. He will then be unable to move and not harm you.
