This is a spectacular kokeshi by Iguchi Satoru. The face is so recognisable and his work is always outstanding. For this kokeshi he used a pale wood and engraved it to give the doll extra dimension. The kokeshi is lovely decorated with fragile flowers. It is quite a large doll. A perfect eye-catcher!
