This is a rare kokeshi by Yuji Watanabe. She has a beautiful red kimono with flowers. she is titled 'Autumn Flowers'. Her long black hair contrasts nicely with the dark red of her kimono. The doll has a very powerful appearance. She is a perfect eye-catcher and comes with her original box!
Yuji is part of a well-known kokeshi artisan family. He is the son of the famous Masao Watanabe and the father of Kunihiko Watanabe. His kokeshi are arguably amongst the most popular and sought by collectors all over the world making them highly expensive.
