This is an couple of Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi by Sanpei Yamanaka. This is a nice opportunity to buy a rare couple by Sanpei. The colorful bands are a typical feature of Sanpei's work.
Yamanaka-San was born in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi troughout his entire career. His kokeshi are really sought by collectors all over the world. He won the prestigious 'Prime Minister Award' in 1979.
