This kokeshi is beautifully decorated with the theme of the Tanabata Festival. This festival also know as the Star Festival is held in Japan each year on 7 July.
Takahashi Hajime was originally a fine artist/painter. He is known for his colorful flower designs and the typical kokeshi faces that are made out of thin brush strokes.
